When Arlington County stopped taking glass recycling in early 2019, many South Arlington residents were upset. And rightly so.
They started collecting their own bottles and jars for drop off at the Trades Center, or Quincy Park.
In fact, between April 2019 & January 2020, thousands of individual car trips netted more than a million pounds of glass (weighing as much as 27 Arlington Transit buses!) for Arlington County.
However… there’s a better, more ecologically friendly, less fossil fuel dependent solution.
Douglass Park Glass Company makes one trip once every two weeks to pick up everyone’s glass bottles and jars for recycling.
